9.) Rely on SEASONAL VARIATIONS, TRADITION or LOCAL COLOR
By studying color schemes from the past, i.e. eighteenth century,
Victorian, Arts and Crafts, etc. you can build a room's colors
quite simply by incorporating these already accepted color
schemes.
Using colors from your "locale," for instance, Southwest,
New England or Early American Styles, you easily choose
colors that reflect the area in which you live.
Seasonal color variations are another "easy" way to choose colors.
Fall colors for a space such as mustard yellows, russets and
browns will reflect a calm and subdued space perfect for
resting in the beautiful colors of the season.
Spring colors are more uplifting; pinks, lilac and saffron
yellow impart a naive, fresh look to a room.
