2.) Choosing COLOR SCHEMES
Trying to decide on the right color scheme can be difficult.
Here are the two basic COLOR SCHEMES you can choose from:
a.) Complementary
These are colors OPPOSITE EACH OTHER on the COLOR WHEEL, such as,
Red/Green, Blue/Yellow, etc.
Rooms decorated with a complementary color scheme tend to be
MORE FORMAL, MORE VISUALLY CHALLENGING, with a CLEAR separation
of colors.
These should be used in the more formal areas of the home, ie;
the living room, dining room, formal master bedroom.
b.) Analogous
These are colors NEXT TO EACH OTHER on the COLOR WHEEL,
Yellow/Green, Blue/Violet, Red/Orange.
Rooms using an ANALOGOUS COLOR SCHEME are more CASUAL, RESTFUL
and MUTED in terms of coloration.
This color scheme should be used in the more informal areas
of the home, family rooms, dens and bedrooms.
