Free Color Tips:

10.) Always look at your COLOR CHOICE SAMPLES in the space
before buying.
When shopping for upholstery fabric, furniture finishes, window
treatments and rugs always put a sample in the space you are
decorating.

Then, leave it there for a couple of days and examine it in
the variety of lighting that fills the space. Be sure to look
at the color samples during the times when the space will
be used the most.

If it is at night, after everyone is home from work (under
the "artificial" light of lamps) be sure to check the samples during
the late afternoon and evening hours.

If the room is used during the day when there is an abundance
of natural sunlight, check the samples during the morning and
early afternoon.

The "direction" the room's windows face (where the "natural" light is
coming from) will also impact how a color appears in the room. Dark
colors tend to look "darker" in room's with northern exposures. You
may want to lighten the color "values" of your choices a bit to reflect
this. The opposite is true for rooms with southern exposures.
